Surprise!! It is Americans only true system of "socialized medicine." The department of Veterans
Affairs Health System. They have shorter wait times, better health outcomes, better information technology, and cutting edge technology and research, its less expensive . . . and it is run by bureaucrats. And they are not trying to kill anyone's grandparents.

I watched something no long ago, but before the socialized medicine debate, thats for sure...about the poor condition of many of the VA hospitals. There is not alot I remember about the show, but I do remember them showing footage of a number of the hospitals and they were GROSS! Is this familiar to you? Next time we chat you will have to tell me the condition of the ones you've had experience with. Wish I could remember more of the show. It wasn't really significant to me at the time.
ReplyDeleteWhat that was probably talking about were the conditions at military hospitals such as Walter Reed. They are not part of the VA system and have been having problems. Unless it was 15-20 years ago, the VA itself, with the exception of a few highly publicized stories is doing extremely well. I added a link.
